Flash Flooding WideSpread in Central PA.

Homeowners and business owners alike are waking up to rising streams and flood waters in central Pennsylvania that are closing roads, sweeping away cars and flooding basements.  With sudden downpours expected to continue into Wednesday night (July 25th, 2018) the chance for additional flash flooding will remain.

Amusement parks like Hershey Park and Knoebles were forced to close yesterday due to the abundance of rain, but they weren’t the only ones.  Countless roads remain covered and have been shut down forcing motorists to find alternate routes to their destinations.  Interstate 81 and 78 were both shutdown yesterday for periods of time making travel difficult for many.

Pine Grove and Trevose in Schuylkill County appear to be the hardest hit thus far where local firefighters have had to perform countless water rescues to keep the public safe.

WNEP Newswatch 16 has captured the rising flood waters in the video above.  Please be safe out there!
